Spring doesn't quite seem to want to show it's face in New York, so here's my little contribution. I hope it helps to hurry things along. I just don't want to think about just how much time it's taken to get this far.
This comment isn't actually about this post, but about an apron you submitted to "Tie One On." I couldn't find your email adress on this page. Anyways, I loved the apron you submitted for the "Apron and a Recipe," theme. It was purple and looked like it was made from multiple oval panels. I was just wondering where you got the pattern because I would love to make one for myself. Love the blog too, very nice!
Bree. Thanks. I'm afraid that I'm in the same boat as you now. I cannot find your email address so I will answer you here. I know that I used a vintage pattern for inspiration, but the apron was just trial-and-error. I cut the ovals out of muslin first to get the size/shape I wanted and then cut into the real fabric. Each section is lined and bound with bias-tape. Then I hand sewed the ovals together. If I had to do it over I would have sewn the ovals together first, then added the bias on top. No more handsewing aprons for me. : )
