My Good Fortune

Small Factory and I visit the Grand Army Plaza farmer's market on a very regular basis.

Nearly three weeks ago, I bought raffle tickets from one stand--Bradley Farms--and two weeks ago I learned that I had won the raffle.

What did I win?
Why, my weight in tomatoes! This is merely the first installment.

Sauce has been made, eaten and frozen. Tomatoes have been roasted. Tomatoes have been broiled with scallions and blue cheese. A few tomato omelettes and tomato/cheese sandwiches have been consumed. A tomato/pepper/zucchini/cheese tart was baked. A few have been given away and surely more will become juicy gifts. There are a few left.

Tomatoes and peaches are two things that I find really only taste good when they are in season. Otherwise they tend to disappoint.

We are going back on Saturday for more.
Yum.
